Can I say a few words about cheesecake?

I Loves Me Some Cheesecake!

I Loves Me Some Cheesecake!

We are a family that likes cheesecake.  There’s nothing wrong with that.  Life without cheesecake would be a life lacking in rich, creamy goodness.

Gail Loves Cheesecake, TOO!

Gail Loves Cheesecake, TOO!

Yet, despite our fondness for cheesecake, we didn’t eat THIS particular cheesecake.  It was much too early in the day for such a dessert — especially since we were at the local Denny’s for breakfast.  There are cheese-related dishes that go well with brekky… omelets, scrambled eggs with cheddar, cheese on the hash browns, all perfectly acceptable breakfast fare.  Cheesecake?  Not so much.

But we do enjoy cheesecake.  But in its proper place — as a dessert following a fine dinner.  Prime rib, perhaps.  Or as a special treat on its own.  But not with breakfast.  Especially if you’ve had pancakes… which are plenty sweet on their own after being bathed in rich, maple syrup.  Now that’s good eatin’, I don’t care WHO you are!

Still, nothin’ wrong with cheesecake!

And when you come right down to it, there’s nothing I enjoy more in the world that going out to breakfast on a Saturday morning with my beloved wife, my bestest friend in the whole wide world!

Last time I had my photo taken with some “cheesecake” it had a whole different meaning but these days I don’t think I could manage more than the type you eat for dessert anyway.

    Thanks for the post.
